Protocols published for in vitro methods compliant with regulatory requirements and/or validated by the EURL ECVAM in the areas of Eye and Skin Irritation, Carcinogenicity and Acute Oral Toxicity; four further protocols resulting from ACuteTox project

The following protocols have been published in the DB-ALM database for in vitro methods, compliant with regulatory requirements and/or validated by the European Union Reference Laboratory for Alternatives to Animal Testing - EURL ECVAM) in the areas of Eye and Skin Irritation, Carcinogenicity and Acute Oral Toxicity:

  • Fluorescein Leakage (No. 71, thoroughly updated in compliance with the new OECD TG 460)
  • In vitro Syrian Hamster Embryo (SHE) Cell Transformation Assay (CTA) (No. 136)
  • In vitro EpiDerm™ Skin Irritation Test (EPI-200-SIT) (No.138)
  • BALB/c 3T3 NRU Cytotoxicity assay for Oral toxicity (No. 139)

Four further protocols of methods resulting from the EU Integrated Project “ACuteTox”and related information are now available online:

  • Metabolic Stability  (No. 141)
  • Permeability Assay on Caco-2 Cells (No. 142)
  • Plasma Protein Binding Assay (No. 143) 
  • MTT cytotoxicity assay in primary rat hepatocytes (No. 144)
