EURL ECVAM has revamped its presence on the web. Find detailed information on its operational structure, activities and laboratories; updated documentation on validation and regulatory acceptance of alternative methods; the test method submission procedure, EURL ECVAM Recommendations and an archive of publications.
A new web section is now available on this site, dedicated to EURL ECVAM, the European Union Reference Laboratory for alternatives to animal testing. It replaces the EURL ECVAM site http://ecvam.jrc.it, which has been discontinued.
EURL ECVAM, hosted by the Joint Research Centre, Institute for Health and Consumer Protection (IHCP) and located in Ispra (Italy), has a long tradition in the validation of methods which contribute to the replacement, reduction and refinement of animal testing used for the safety assessment of chemicals or efficacy/potency testing of biologicals and vaccines.
EURL ECVAM also promotes the development and dissemination of alternative methods and approaches, their application in industry and their acceptance by regulators.
