ICATM (International Collaboration on Alternative Test Methods) framework
On 13 October this year representatives of International Validation Bodies participating in the ICATM (International Collaboration on Alternative Test Methods) framework gathered at the JRC in Ispra to discuss ways to further intensify and better structure their ongoing collaborative projects and to identify future key activities of mutual interest.
The ICATM collaboration supports the communication and collaboration of international validation bodies in view of inter alia enhancing the likelihood of harmonised recommendations on usefulness and limitations of test methods to facilitate the global acceptance and utilisation of validated methods.
A representative of the Korean Centre for the Validation of Alternative Methods (KoCVAM) attended the meeting as an observer on invitation of ICATM, with a view to joining ICATM as a full member in the near future.
On a more technical level, the ICATM experts discussed progress of current validation projects including validation planning, conduct, peer review and final test method recommendations
