Now updated: Agendas of the Meetings, ECVAM scientific committee (ESAC)
|Dec 19, 2011|
Both meetings held in JRC Ispra (Varese) in 2011
ECVAM (the European Reference Laboratory for the Validation of Alternative Methods to Animal Testing), hosted by the JRC-IHCP, has a Scientific Advisory Committee (ESAC)
composed of 15 external scientists working in academia, industry and
industry organisations, public institutions or as independent
consultants. These members are selected on the basis of their scientific
expertise, are required to act independently, free from any third party
influence, and only on the basis of scientific considerations.
The ECVAM Scientific Advisory Committee (ESAC) meets biannually to advise ECVAM on scientific and technical issues related to alternative methods to animal testing and in particular to discuss and conclude on scientific peer reviews of validation studies evaluated and/or conducted by ECVAM.
